As announced in a recent message, beginning in Fall 2027, the University is moving toward an expanded approach to First-Year Experience and New Student Orientation that recognizes that meaningful connections and belonging develop over time and not just in the first few days a new student arrives to campus. With this shift, the New Student Orientation program will be shortened by four days and the small group programs, Community Action (CA), Dialogue and Difference in Action (DDA), and Outdoor Action (OA), will move to fall break as optional activities. More information can be found in the FAQs.
As these Fall Break programs are being developed, all students can complete this survey to provide feedback on what a new student may be looking to experience. Students who have served as leaders in CA, DDA, or OA are invited to participate in feedback sessions to share ideas and identify possibilities for the Fall Break programs. Leaders from CA, DDA, or OA, please visit this page to sign up for a feedback session.
